And so it begins....

When I was leaving the States, I swore it wouldn't happen. I called it exhibitionist. I may have mocked it. Only two months later and here I am falling into the blogosphere.

What happened? Two things, mainly: 1. My personal journal has become overwhelmingly personal. I am boring myself by talking about myself too much. 2. I have been developing an alarming Facebook addiction.

So, given that a growing exhibitionist tendency hit at the same time as a depressing decline in my writing, I thought perhaps I could find a mutual solution for both problems. Ta-da! The blog is born. Welcome to it, such as it may be.

The sounds in the background, the chatter,
the laughter, the excitement of something
about to end, about to go
into territory, into a fast-moving
Datsun racing against wind,

into memory--firelight
abandoned by campers--
into a collection of moments
even as this moment passes....
