I have been unable to find adequate Spanish equivalents for the following two absolutely essential words from my vocabulary:
awkward
random
I have no idea how to survive being this awkward without being able to say the word awkward. How terribly awkward.

I learned "despistado" the other day- it means "absent-minded". I plan to use it to describe myself a lot. I think it'll help to lower expectations...
If the situation is awkward, then it's ebarazoso (embarrassing). If it's a person, "Don't be so awkard/difficult!" = No seas tan pesado!
A person who is awkward can be "torpe" or "desmañado/a".
Depistado! perfect....almost. That solves my problem as to how to say that I am frequently "oblivious." As for pesado, ebarazoso, desmañado/a....I don't know they just don't have that all-purposeness that "awkward" does. I think the biggest problem I find is that "awkward" in English can be extremely negative but it can also be somewhat affectionate....and excusatory...in short it is possible to be awkward in an endearing fashion (to which aspire in my Spanish awkwardness)... :)
